Tha...Very thought-provoking series of threads, Ben. Thanks. Strange times indeed for race in America. On the one hand, it seems like overt racism has seen a resurgence in public acceptance and celebration. And yet, the notion that race no longer matters in America seems to have become a completely solidified myth in our national culture. I can't imagine how difficult it is to be Black in America these days - having to bear the brunt of this sort of racism and yet find no validation in the larger culture.
